Kung Fu Panda

What kind of numbers can we expect from him in the coming years? I have a trade in the works for him so is he and will he remain a top ten 3rd baseman?

Thanks

I believe he is. They've got a solid lineup surrounding him. He will have his ups and downs, but I think he's a gamer. Bochy knows how to use him and he's responsive when management is unhappy about certain things. I am a little biased, truth be told.

The ability/talent is definitely there. Its always his health thats the problem. He always has some strange injuries that keeps him out of the line up time to time. Either way, I wouldnt have a problem owning him.

Thanks guys. The deal, that is in another thread is my Teixeira, Ryan Zimmerman and BJ Upton for Prince, Panda and Bourn.

I think it's a good deal but I keep coming back to Zimm and Panda.

I like your side with getting Panda. Prince had a good season and I think he'll do better next season and Bourn is pretty solid.

Honestly, all of the questions about Zimm can be said about Panda. Both are young, Zimm has more potential but Panda is no slouch you are looking at a floor of 80/20/90/.300 most years. Only thing is his Ceiling is probably around that point too.

Prince is way better than Tex. Bourn won't kill your Average.

This deal sees you improving a lot in BA, without giving up much in other Cats.

Yeah bud I would accept that trade for sure. Panda has a really great young team surrounding him so there's no reason he won't be a great 2nd tier 3rd baseman. But the prince over tex is to big to ignore not to mention I like Bourne over upton to since upton just seems to disappoint us every year. I think you win that trade for sure.

upton is close to a 25/25 player, and so long as you can deal with a poor average, you are looking at a guy that is plus in 2 categories (steals and homers) aveage in 2 (rbi and runs) and a detriment in 1 (average).... how is that not like a normal power hitter that never steals (good in rbi and homers, ok in average and runs, and nothing in steals).

Back to the actual topic. I am not a fan of Panda. He is the opposite of upton. he gives you a good average and a little lagging in everything else. he feels more like the next generation mike young. he would need to hit 330 to be a top 50 player with his periferals.

Definitely favour the Prince/Panda/Bourn side.

Panda has had two seasons wrecked by injury, but the good news is, he's broken all the hamate bone's the lord has given him.

I have Pablo, so some bias, but Im looking for a career year out of him.
