Looking for weaknesses or suggestions to make my team better

Looking for weaknesses or suggestions to make my team better. Be brutal i'm trying to learn. Cats are pims +/- goals assists points saves spct gaa wins (goalie stats worth 1/4 point).
We have 9 forwards and 4 defence and 1 goalie.

My team is Duchene, Getzlaf, Malkin,Tavares,Eriksson,Kane E,Kane P,Lucic,Neal

Byfuglien,Green,Karlsson,Subban

Fleury

My reserves are Bjugstad,Brunner,Granlund,Holland,Shaw,Strome,Toff oli,Baertschi,Conacher,Coyle,Etem,Kreider,Yakupov

Schultz,Smith,Vantanen,Barberio,Morrow

Elliott,Lindback

I know that I don't have very much depth if someone gets injured, but i'm sure several of my reserves are going to play all year. I've learned a ton from reading these forums, so fire away.

Great question, because it's very hard to judge considerng the team looks pretty stacked implying it would be a shallower league yet only one goalie is counted which implies a larger league lol.

Oops

Sorry there is 14 teams

14 Teams, I'd say your team will be very, very competitive.

The only forward I'd even consider moving is Duchene. But I'm in the camp where I think patience is needed with him.

Your defense is awesome!

Fluery is solid in G. If you could upgrade in Lundy, I think I'd go for that.

Overall, there's no need to be brutal because you have a brutally good team.

Strange ... In a 14 teamer you have all these great forwards/dmen ( Malkin, Tavares, Neal, Karlsson, Byfuglien) AND top prospects like Yakupov, Granlund, Strome, Schultz, Smith, Coyle, etc.

Not sure how you drafted Yakupov with that team.
You must have won before? Or in a league full of mike milbury's.

P.s. yah just get a better goalie.

Maaaasquito 11-24-2012 07:54 PM

Yeah for a 14-teamer that's very strong. You should be fine moving forward. Only thing that I might recommend is maybe see if you can get a top-tiered goalie...

Fleury is fine, but his peripherals like SP% and GAA aren't necessarily top of the class, playing for the Pens he's always going to have a "big name" attachment. Might not be a bad idea to attach him with a forward and see if you can land a Lundy, Quick, Rinne type plus another forward in return.

Thanks

Thanks for the input, I will work on getting a better goalie. I traded for Yakupov and I think I got a good deal. This is the second year of our pool and I have done more trading than anyone else by far in the last year and a half. I'm happy with how my team is coming together. But I wasn't even a big hockey watcher before I started in the pool, so im learning as I go. Its amazing how much a person can learn in a year and a half but most of than knowledge has come from Dobber's site and these forums , so thanks.

Yeah this is a great team for a 14-team league. I'd say all of your players are or have the potential to be top 50 guys. Great prospects too...Bartschi, Granlund, Yakupov, Kreider, Coyle, Bjugstad...yikes.

ericdaoust 11-24-2012 09:29 PM

You have depth all over the place so you can even afford to overpay for a top goalie. Even if you use Fleury along with a couple prospects like Bjugstad, Strome and/or Brunner (take advantage of the hype around his play in Europe) you still come out on top. You have the assets to go get the best available, so go do it.
