Some advise please

I have a 2 spots on my roster open(3 if Selanne retires). Happy with my situation in goal. Was thinking of getting a couple forwards. Or should I maybe pick up a Dman too? (Team in sig)

Some of the players I was thinking of...

- FORWARDS-
R.Johansen,M.Johansson,J. Schwartz, C.Kreider, T.Ennis,
J.Sillverberg, G.Nyquist, R.Callahan, T.Zajac, N.Horton, M.Koivu

-DMEN-
R.McDonagh, J.Faulk, J.Garrison, J.McBain

Thanks

Welcome to the boards. With the team you got, I'd like one defense and one more forward. I like Justin Faulk for D and like Koivu, Callahan, Ennis, and Kreider. Lots of options for you, with a short starting roster, I prefer guaranteed starters.

Koivu and Ennis should put up most points.

Looking at your team and your roster requirements, I don't think I'd take a D-man. With the ability to only start 2, and the four you have, I don't think any guys on that list would be starters. With that said, I'd take two guys that could possibly have the best trade value or upside.

Over the next year or two, this is my top 3:
Koivu
Ennis
Callahan (too bad you don't count hits)

I agree with arctic_rogue that you don't need another D-man with your set-up. With weekly lineup changes I'd expect you'll be leaning on Karlsson and Subban pretty heavily and I'd be surprised if Myers or Smith see much action.

Koivu is a must-add in my opinion. The 2nd spot is more murky, but I'd look at Zajac and Callahan. It's just a gut feeling, but I've never liked Ennis much. Zajac is the top C in NJ and will play with Kovy, who he seems to have chemistry with. Callahan will probably be on the 2nd line in NY. I just don't think there are enough points to go around between him, Gaborik, Richards and Nash. He's solidly a PP2 guy. So my two guys would be Koivu and Zajac.

1. Justin Faulk
2. M. Koivu
3. T. Zajac

N.Horton
J.Garrison

C.Kreider

I'd go with Nyquist and Faulk. Faulk may be a better fantasy option than subban right away. And Koivu may be the big name at forward there, but I have never touched him in any pool, and have never regretted it.

Koivu
Faulk
Ennis

You've got a win now team... having all those prospects are counterproductive.

I would have a serious think about your team and with what's available on the ww, I'd seriously consider grabbing all the "productive" players now and see if you can win now rather than sit in the middle...

I'd grab Horton and Koivu, and probably seriously think about dropping either Strome/Granlund for Ennis/Zajac...

But it depends on how your league is set up, is the champion a very strong team? are there a lot of competition at the top?

The way I see it you're a "tweener" team, you got some good players now, but you can't win because you're carrying all the "young prospects", by the time your prospects develop your older guys won't be productive anymore, so you're in that tweener position.

I would probably take a look at the league and go "win now" or go "all young"...
