We need some help with Subban+ for B. Smith+
I'm in trade talks with Maya has the Knife regarding these two players and we wanted to take it to the boards because there needs to be a 2nd piece on either side, but we can't figure out who. I asked for Kulikov in addition to Smith, and that's where things stand now. What do you guys think is an even trade for both sides?
The stats are: G, A, Pts, +/-, SOG, PPP, Hits, Blk, FOW, W, GAA, Sv%, Svs. It's a 10 team, H2H full keeper with 26 man rosters (start 4C, 4LW, 4RW, 1F, 6D, 2G) and 10 prospects (anyone under 50GP) Here's my roster: C: Stamkos, Thornton, Roy, Ott (LW), O. Jokinen, Stoll LW: Kovalchuk, Ladd, Moulson, Pacioretty RW: Gaborik, Jagr, Read, Sharp (C) D: Carle, Carlson, Karlsson, Keith, Seidenberg, Subban, M. Stuart G: Bryzgalov, Ward, Bachstrom, Crawford, Elliott Prospects: Cervenka, Nyquist, Tatar, Brunner, Barberio, Erixon, Murray, Holtby, Markstrom, Visentin Here's Maya has the Knife's roster: C: Hanzal, Kopitar, Lecavalier, E. Staal, Zajac LW: Burrows, Dubinsky, Foligno, Parise, Boedker RW: Cole, P. Kane, St. Louis, Yakupov, Clutterbuck D: Campbell, Chara, Enstrom, Green, Kulikov, J. Schultz, Beauchemin, Orpik G: Rinne, Hiller, Luongo IR: Granlund, Horton Prospects: Faksa, Jenner, Schwartz, Jensen, Collberg, Brodin, Lindholm, Murphy, B. Smith, Bernier |
My opinion is that the Subban owner should keep him in this kind of roto format. He is still wildly inconsistent and not a finished product but is already among the best contributors. Any offensive improvement and he finds himself among the elite.

Kulikov and Smith for Subban and your worst probably pretty even. I agree with the above that Subban should be held onto, but the same can be said for Kulikov. Given the two, I'd take PK, but if the other guy tossed in Smith for my worst, I'd seriously consider.

I dont understand why the subban owner would want to deal him? If you were aqcuiring a need (like a goalie ) then sure. But from what im seeing now it dosnt make sense?
I would keep subban |
IMO Subban should be considered elite in roto leagues and the rule of thumb regarding the elite is you only trade them for a massive overpayment if at all. This is not a massive overpayment.

Conveniently 2 of these players have been featured in geek of the week
Here are links to Terry Campkin's geek of the week articles on Subban and Kulikov. Supports the commetns here that Subban is a roto stud and worth more.

I'd keep Subban too. It looks like you have a well balanced team and the trade is not addressing a weak spot. Chances are you'll lose value overall when you dilute your teams talent taking a 2 for 1 unless the 2nd player is replacing a weak link in your roster.

This trade, or at least the discussions, was borne mostly out of boredom. It's a new league and we are all happy with our shiny new toys, but we can't play with them. KnowwhatImean? I recognize that defense isn't a weakness for my team, but I'm kind of itching to do something. Even if it's a lateral move. What I didn't expect was that everyone would assign so much value to Subban and deem this as being so lop-sided. My teams biggest weakness at this point, I feel, is that I lack reliable depth at C. Compared to last years stats I fall behind in 3 main cats: FOW, Blocks and Hits. What I want to do is use some of my depth at other positions, like defense and especially in goal, to strengthen my C depth. With so many goalies I had hoped to sell a few of them to upgrade at C. The problem is that everyone seems happy with their goalie situations. Until the season starts and goalies start playing badly or get injured I probably just need to sit tight. What are your opinions on that? |
You know you wanna trade... just do it! ;)
