HUGE Error In Lions v Texans Game...

Texans backup RB Forsett runs it up the middle, appears to be down after an 8 yard gain. No whistle though, he gets up and ends up running 81 yards total for a TD. But he CLEARLY was down, one elbow 100% was on the ground. But the play is deemed unreviewable since there was no whistle BECAUSE Jim Schwartz threw the challenge flag. So that mistake cost his team 7 points AND a 15 yard penalty on the kickoff.

Jim Schwartz has made so many mistakes in his tenure, they're going to catch up to him soon...

I thought the NHL reviewed all Touchdaowns to make sure that is legit? This should of been reviewed and overturned. I dont understand how this could happen?

The NHL does not review touchdowns. The NFL does. ;)

The rule is that if you throw a challenge flag when there is supposed to be an auto-review, then the review gets canceled and the penalty is applied to the next play.

Are you sure it wasnt the NHL on this play??

If it was the NHL then the touchdown would have only counted for 5 points instead of 6 due to rollback.

After the roll back you have to factor in the 50/50 split, 2.5pts to the league and 2.5pts to the players. If you look at it this way, its not that big of a deal.

But they will lose an entire season debating the 2.5 points in the replay booth...

what if Kubiak, the texans coach, threw a flag to challenge that call? does that still mean it's not reviewable?

Since the call benefitted his team I imagine they would review the play anyway. I don't think the NFL would be stupid enough to let something like that happen. Maybe the NHL, but not the NFL.
