RNH for picks?

Ok, I need some real advice this is screwing with my head.

been offered.

#1 pick + pick 10 for RNH

But! Theres a draft lotto so #1 isn't guaranteed.
--------------
10. Draft Lotto
All teams that played in the loser playoffs the previous season take part in the Draft Lotto. The winner of the Loser Playoffs will receive 1 extra chance in the Draft Lotto. No team can move up more than 2 spots (eg. 4th place up to 2nd place max) in the draft. All teams will have their names thrown in a hat and only one draw will be made to decide the winner of the Draft Lotto order. All other picks will be based on how the other teams seeded going into the draft.
Team with the worst regular season record receives the 1st position with 6 chances which is based on a vote done that gives worst team 50% chance to win the Draft Lotto. Team with the 2nd worst regular season record receives 3 chances to win the Draft Lotto. Team with the 3rd worst regular season record receives 2 chances to win the Draft Lotto. Team with the 4th worst regular season record receives 1 chance to win the Draft Lotto.
-----------

So the 7th place team won the loser playoffs and earned an extra chance so he can only move up to 2nd overall. So the way I see it is if I take this trade I get my 6 chances to get number one plus his 2 chances to not be passed down to 2nd overall.

8 chances to get 1st overall to 5 chances to move down to 2nd overall.

Should I take this trade? I am in rebuild mode. So worst case is I lose out on the Oilers boys and take Huberdeu. Best case is I get #1 and take Yakupov and hope to god Huberdeu falls to 10th?

As it stands right now my 1st pick is pick #15 in the 2nd round.

I'm torn.

Id wait until after the lottery to make this trade. In rebuilds you need to acquire the best premium players and I like RNH more then Huberadeau.

I don't think he would do it if he won the lotto.

I was thinking

RNH for pick #1 pick #10 and conditional pick #11 if I lose the lotto? There are alot of prospects available.

1 Nail Yakupov EDM o 120.8 1 1
2 Jonathan Huberdeau FLA o 104.2 2 2
3 Mikael Granlund MIN o 93.6 4 4
4 Alex Galchenyuk MTL o 91.4 3 3
5 Vladimir Tarasenko STL o 90.7 5 5
6 Mark Scheifele WPG o 89.4 6 6
7 Ryan Strome NYI o 87.5 8 8
8 Mikhail Grigorenko BUF o 87.4 9 9
9 Chris Kreider NYR o 84.4 7 7
10 Gustav Nyquist DET o 83.9 10 10
11 Sven Bärtschi

All are free agents.

I'd consider moving RNH only if I was reassured that the #1 was the FIRST overall pick. i.e Yakupov. (+ the 10th overall pick). I would feel too uneasy moving RNH now and HOPE to get that 1st overall pick. Too risky IMO. Wait until after the draft to see who the other GM lands with his picks.

Sounds like he's willing to trade for some certainty in RNH while trading away some risk. I'd stand pat.

Despite your league stats heavy on goals (which I think Yaks will dominate in), you are not assured of landing him. The Nuge is no slouch either.

At first glance, I said no.

But at second glance, I'd almost do this. 8 to 5 is not bad. But getting 2nd and 10th is not bad either with that list of studs (although this is unproven talent - RNH is pretty proven IMO).

I like your idea of #1 and #10 for RNH with the conditional 11th added on if the pick slips to #2. I'd do that. That way you're looking at:

RNH for Yakupov and Huberdeau

OR

RNH for Huberdeau, Galchenyuk and Granlund

(going with the rankings).

I'd take either of these deals....

MJFP 11-21-2012 12:12 AM

I almost wanna take this. 62.5% for the 1st pick..... it's killing me lol!

dmvincent 11-21-2012 12:18 AM

I would probably keep RNH here, but it really depends who is available to you.

Can you give us a list or something? Two top prospects for one is intriguing.

MJFP 11-21-2012 12:28 AM

Pretty much everyone on the top 215 prospect list is available

Also J. Shultz, Rask, B. Schenn.... But they're are 2-3 teams rebuilding in my league. Notably pick #2 and #3.

With no guarantee of landing Yakupov, why take a chance of losing RNH, who could produce as many or more points than Yakupov? Not a gamble I'd take. Keep RNH, you know hes going to be money.

I agree, even though its tempting RNH is too good to trade away for prospects.
