Young D options...rank 'em

OEL
MDZ
Faulk
Murphy (Car)
Barrie

I would rank them like this, any other ideas? Looking to move E. Kane for one of the first 2 guys OR a 3 for 1, the last 3 listed being that package for just Kane. 3 options here, leaning to either OEL or MDZ - but would love some advice, rep as always.

Not knowing your league makeup, your team composition and your categories makes it kind of hard to offer up an opinion here, but the 1st thing that comes to mind for me is why are you moving E. Kane. Me, I'd probably rather have him than any of the D you listed.

I say this because in most leagues, Kane is a multi-cat stud that should only get better. I may consider moving Kane if my D was very weak or if I was made an offer I just couldn't refuse... otherwise, I'd be keeping Kane.

I agree with this ranking. Not sure of your team make up, but I'd definitely love to have OEL for Kane deal.

As for a proposed trade of the bottom 3 of the list as a package haul for giving up Kane, I'd be hesitant of that.

I think some guys are down on Kane, maybe in part due to his recent troubles, but still very talented player, especially in a multi-cat league.

Sorry forgot to say the cats are the same as my sig teams - its a 10 team weekly lineup H2H league. I am stacked on F and weak on D:

Another option is Toews for Weber...

8F, 4D, 2G - Stats same as league in sig

F - Stamkos, E. Staal, E. Kane, Toews, Seguin, Ryan, J. Staal, Duchene, Couturier, Zajac, Dubinsky, D. Brown, Lucic,

D - Keith, Seabrook, Fowler, Bogo, Leddy

G - Price, Rask, Dubnyk

Fm- Tarasenko, Puempel, Rielly, Markstrom

Agreed. But i think Kane is too much even for OeL. The kid could be great but he hasn't "proven" that he's elite yet. Kane already has a 30 goal season under his belt and is a solid multi-cat contributor as well

I would just keep Kane if I were you.

This would be my ranking as well, and I, too, would not deal Kane for these guys.

Agreed with last two replies. Don't forget Kane scored 30 goals while still in diapers;) (not to mention the lack of #1 unit pwr play time). Don't think I'd move him for these guys.

I think MDZ will outpoint OEL consistently. MDZ's support group is far stronger and will be counted upon offensively, whereas OEL will garner much defensive responsibilities and IMO lessen his point totals. No Yandle, then I think it'd be much closer.

Thanks for posting the info regarding your league.

I'd still keep Evander Kane over any of those D. As far as ranking them, I would go:

MDZ
OEL
Faulk
Murphy
Barrie

I think MDZ and OEL have similar upside, but I give MDZ the slight edge because of the team he plays on. He should produce the same points, much better +/-and more Hits. You can probably get him cheaper than OEL as well as the consensus seems to be that OEL is the much more valued asset.

I'd be trying to sell high on Jordan Staal and see if that would snag you either of OEL or MDZ. You have enough good C that replacing J. Staal in the faceoff circle shouldn't be that difficult.

I'd also be tempted to trade Toews for Weber if you could sell this to the other GM, again, mostly based on the peripherals that Weber brings to the table.

Another asset you might want to consider trading might be Duchene. I still think he pans out to be a very good scoring C, but I don't see him contributing in PIMs or Hits.

For me to trade Kane, I'd be looking for a lot more than the D mentioned here. If I was a buyer of Kane, and I would be, I would be happy to give up MDZ or OEL to acquire him.

I wouldnt trade Kane for those guys. No chance. Must be some better options.
