JC Lipon

What's the story with this guy? Why has he been undrafted? He's been passed in the two previous drafts.

Last year he had 65 points and 111 PIM in 69 games. This year he's dominating WHL with 27 points in 11 games so far.

He's not even that small (6'0" and 181 lbs) so I wonder why no one has taken chance with him even in the later rounds.

Never heard of him before this year to be honest. He should sign somewhere soon once the CBA is in place. Kinda like Brendan Shinnimin last year, but with better size.

His line of JC-Colin Smith-Tim Bozon have had great chemistry.

He hasn't been drafted yet because he scored 3 goals and 21 points in his draft year, and then missed half of last season. He's been a player worth drafting just with the injury especially last year no team felt like taking a chance on him. I believe he's eligible for one more draft, and I expect him to have a bit of a Tanner Pearson....I don't know about 1st round but he could go fairly high, 2nd or even 3rd.

Even if he does sign somewhere once the CBA is finished (which I'm not sure he'll be able to), he's too young for the AHL so he'll stay in Kamloops regardless.

Really? His WHL page shows he played 69 games last year.

Yeah that's something that confused me when I was picking him in our prospect pool. WHL and HockeyDB say 69 games, but Elite Prospects says he played 36.

And thanks for the clarification on whether or he can sign somewhere. I didn't realize he had a year of draft eligibility left. He could have signed somewhere if he attended a team's prospect camp or rookie tourney, though.

Hmm it's possible I suppose. I'm a long ways from Kamloops, but he did play each time I saw him in Portland. Not sure why eliteprospects has his GP wrong but I'd assume the WHL page has it right.

In that case I'm a little surprised he wasn't drafted this last June. He'll definitely hear his name called in 2013 though.

Still tearing up WHL. Leading the league with 21 goals and 53 points in just 28 games.

His linemate Colin Smith is second in points with 52. Looks like Colorado got a possible 7th round steal there.
