What happen with this guy? What was once thought as a nice player, might never see a shift in the league?

Why do you think he "might never see a shift in the league?" Where are you hearing this?

As far as I know he was resigned by the Isles and expected to play with them this year (side tracked now by lockout).

As far as I know he's still in the mix. I haven't heard anything to say otherwise.

he played for HV71 last year / resigned with isles over the summer.

They're saying that he's doing really well in Finland right now and is a bit of a pwr forward. His stat line looks good to me, 11 pts and 6 goals in 9 games. Plays on Armia's team. Not a bad guy to own in a deep keeper league.

Well i stand corrected. And happily so, as i do own him. I dont see him on any of dobbers list, so i was wondering if he could contribute this year in anyway.

Joensuu hurt his hand and is out two months. So if NHL returns any time soon (not likely), Joensuu is going to miss some games.

Joensuu is not someone I've ever expected to be make an impact at the NHL level. He could become a decent 3rd line player at best, hes someone I figured NYI brought back as a depth player if needed for this upcoming season and see how he does. Personally, I wouldn't invest a roster spot on him in any league, in any format at this point.

Any know when/if Joensuu will be coming back? I have him stashed on my IR in a twenty team league.

Original diagnosis after the surgery was 5-7 weeks....that would bring him back anywhere from the first week in March to the end of the month. He has a 1-way contract so I'd imagine he'll work his way into the Isles lineup whenever he's healthy.
