Klefbom upper body injury
Not exactly NHL-relevant, but hey - it's the lockout!
For anyone following the progress of this guy over in the SEL he's been doing fantastic and has been considered one of the best D-men in the SEL this year. Unfortunately he went awkwardly into the boards and seems to be out with some kind of shoulder/arm injury. No timeline on return. |
Name another forum that gives you this kind of depth of coverage. Don't even know this guy. Thanks dyz, love your commitment!

I used Google Translate for the information below. It is from Färjestads official website.
Optimistic for Klefbom A shoulder injury - on the ice again on Thursday. No game against Timrå. That was the message from Färjestads medical team when it came to Oscar Klefbom. Klefbom injured from the start of the match against Växjö and was forced to stop the match after he had gone into the end boards with the shaft before. On Wednesday, however, was a bit more positive soundbites. - He has a shoulder injury, is on ice again on Thursday but must sit out the match, summed Färjestads physiotherapist Mattias Hell injury situation. Klefbom was not on the ice during Färjestads Wednesday passports but chose to ride instead. A further assessment of Klefbom can play on Saturday made later in the week. |
Glad to see that Euro leagues are not adopting the UBI/LBI policy yet.

4-6 weeks.
separated shoulder |
Oscar Klefbom out longer than initially expected. Färjestad's new estimation is 4-6 weeks before he's fit to return to the line-up.

Not good news he was really taking a nice step forward this season. And to lose a full season at 19 is never a good thing, ask Erik Johnson.
There was talk of him being in contention for a roster spot in Edmonton next season (actually, this season but the lockout obviously shot that down), so this might end up being a good thing for him actually. It gives him a chance to come to NA and put some time in with the AHL team instead of being pushed right into the NHL. |
