Great perspective on Billy Hamilton

I had a conversation with Jessica Quiroli today about Billy Hamilton and I figured I would share it with you guys.

She is a minor league baseball writer and here's what she had to say about what kind of player he could be.

Mac: What kind of player do you think he'll be? Is he a speed only, run producer? I have a hard time figuring that out.

Jessica: Since there was so much attention paid to his base stealing, his other numbers took a backseat. His 159 hits, 86 walks are also impressive.

Mac: Very true, but not much power, right? Thanks for taking the time to answer, great to have some insight from a pro.

Jessica: He has a number of weapons at his disposal. Overall, he's an excellent contract hitter, but has little power. He more than makes up for it with his speed.

There you have it.

That is great stuff, thanks. I do not currently own Hamilton in any of my dynasty leagues, but am looking to aquire him perhaps.

What are the chances he gets called up this year? I took him late in my 15 team roto, 9 keeper league.

The Reds are transitioning him to play the outfield and centre field in particular, so basically the plan is to keep him in the minors for this year and let Shin-Soo Choo walk in free agency. Then bring him up and put him in centre field.

He could get a September call up, if anything.

Think he is worth keeping on my roster? (15 team league, roto, R/H/RBI/K/SB/OBP/SLG and W/L/K/ERA/WHIP/Kper9/QS), keep 9 this year.
