2012 DobberHockey 3-Tiered Challenge

A little behind on this in 2012. I guess the CBA stuff is sucking some of the 'rush rush hurry hurry' out of it.

One rule change this year:
Expert Tier and Pro Tier will have Hits instead of PIM
The Entry Tier will have Hits as well - but will keep PIM. This is to introduce the newer players to the concept, and if they move onto the Pro Tier next year they will do away with PIM.

Eventually, PIM will go bye-bye, and I want to lead the way in the transition from PIM to Hits.

This year's Expert League invitees are:

Dobber
Ryan Ma (defending champ, and writer of Maasquito Bites)
Jeff Angus (Angus Unleashed)
Michael Amato (The Wild West)
Russ Miller (Back this year with Eastern Edge)
Steve Laidlaw (Cage Match)
Russ Bitely (Prospect Bits)
Glen Hoos (Commissioner's Corner)
Gates Imbeau (Market Buzz)
Anthony Lancione (Saturday's Picks)
Peter Hadley ("Lord of the Rinks" has won Entry and Pro Tiers)
Jake Schenkman ("smack" has won the Pro Tier)
Steven Strawson ("mabus" has won the Pro Tier)
Chris Wassel (Lining Up)
Eric Daoust (Capped)
Mac Vincent (Frozen Pool Forensics)

Pro Tier - Details to come

Entry Tier - If you want to join:
1. And you bought a fantasy guide
2. And you were not in this last year
3. Email me at dobber@dobberhockey.com with the subject line "Enter me in the pool!" and in the body put your first and last name, and email address. No need for anything else. Draw is September 17 (just like the Hip's Fiddler's Green)

Draft Dates:
To be announced. If you can't make them, you can't make them. We have reserve lists of people who want in the league. Sorry, it's hard to accommodate 60 people. Take your chances, do what you can, but if it can't be done it can't be done - sorry!

Hey Dobber,

I'm thinking of putting my name in the hat for the Entry league, however if I get chosen and cannot make the draft, I am probably one of the minority who is happy to auto draft. Would this be allowed?

As well, can you post the rules/settings?

Thanks.

Dobber 09-10-2012 08:19 AM

Yes, auto draft is fine
Full rules are posted in the Guide now. Just the basic roto-style rules that most players are used to

Wow - 16 of us plus a rule change. Should be interesting. Any chance we can use a random draft order generator like:

http://www.fantasysharks.com/apps/be...draftorder.php

Finding out where you draft 30 minutes before you begin is tough in a 16 team league. It would be nice to at least put some thought into it first.

This should be fun.

Mabus

...and it would be nice to get the draft into my calendar. When do you expect to do the draft? I also haven't been invited to the league yet.

The only reason I ask is because I'm going to be out of the country for a couple of weeks and I wasn't sure if we were going to wait until after there is certainty that the season will take place before we finalize the draft stuff.

Mabus

Lord of the Rinks and Mabus go 1/2 this year (or 2/1). Book it!

So was the draw held?

do you email us with the draft date? I am in for the first time and I can't wait

GMGates 09-21-2012 01:05 PM

I will be contacting the chosen commish of each respect league tonight with their entry league member list. Once gathered, a range of dates will be given and each league can vote on which the date that works best - unless otherwise noted.

Stay tuned! Everyone should hear from their commish by the end of the weekend.
