Melky...

Does he have any trade value in keeper leagues? I'm not keeping him regardless, but I don't know if it is worth shopping him around...or just drop him and pick up a FA.

Well, with his latest antics of building a website and all, I'd say he's losing credibility by the day and therefore it's going to be tough for him to go somewhere. I think he has some trade value as someone out there will be willing to take the risk with him because he was a stud this season and last. If the Giants go far enough, he'll only miss a few games next season and then you have a good LF. So someone should go after him, in my mind.

You can try, but I doubt you'll get anything for him. It's not a terrible idea to drop him, but it's not a terrible idea to try and keep him either.

Well the deadline passed. I did end up posting a message that Melky was available but no bites. I'm already keeping Miggy, Posey, Stanton, Trout, Bum and Strasburg, so I don't have room for Cabrera at this point. I'll have to find out if we have offseason trading. If Melky can strike it hot during the playoffs (if the Giants don't crash) then he might regain some value. If that is possible then it might be worth holding onto him unless someone gets hot in the FA pool.

I really think some team will sign him in the off-season looking for an outfielder and a guy that can provide 20-25 HR and 80 RBI, if he hits over 300 you'll take that too.

This is his first ever offence, so teams will take note of that.
